Thinking of Sid

Someday, I will write why I love Sid so much.

  1. I think we, the "Ambiverts" have got a Sid within us...and it's precious! I love him too! My Half-sister who passed away more than a decade ago also loved him. Those who don't love him, don't know the beauty of souls.

  2. And I would wanna read about it because we don't come across such characters very often n the portrayal by Akshaye Khanna was just perfect.

  3. Please write about Sid.
I remember watching Dil Chahta Hai as a kid and recognizing Amir Khan's character as the hero and loving him for it.
I watched the film again a few months back and fell in love with Sid's character. The reality of his love, its purity, the heartache, was beautiful. I had once heard that Art Should Comfort the Disturbed and Disturb the Comfortable. Akshaye Khanna's Character (also his acting) was that art for me, it soothed and disturbed me all at the same time. I kept thinking about his character many days after watching the film, I wanted to read all the blog posts on this character, I loved discussing him, loved the music related to the character!

I would love to read your views on SID as I have loved your posts since I stumbled upon your post on SATRANGI RE!
    Please keep writing!
We love reading and seeing things from your point of view! You write them so beautifully <3

    1. Hi Gauri,
Thank you so much for your encouraging and motivating words. I will try to keep writing.

What a wonderful thought you have given me. "Art Should Comfort the Disturbed and Disturb the Comfortable." I have been thinking about it all day. Sid is such a wonderful character and his story is heartbreaking. It also disturbed me so much becauase I have gone through something similar, the act of forbidden love, and I have learned so much from his maturity. He is an inspiring figure for me. I have written the most on him in some of my earlier posts, but someday, I will try to write a full post on him. Thanks, again.
