1. A fictional film Pehli Nazar Mein Pyaar Ho Gaya in Ram Gopal Varma's Mast.

2. The loneliness of Munna (Aamir Khan) in Ram Gopal Varma's Rangeela.

3. Lucky Ali in Shyam Benegal's Trikal. 

4. Nikhil Bhagat in Shyam Benegal's Trikal and Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha. 

5. Gabbar Singh's image is projected onto the villain's face in Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na.

6. Conversations in the toilet in Shimit Amin's Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year and Shakun Batra's Kapoor & Sons (Since 1921).

7. In Mira Nair's The Namesake, a newly married Ashima (Tabu) finds warmth in the presence of her husband Ashok (Irrfan). After Ashok's death, the film harks back to the earlier scene but this time Ashima is left standing in the cold. Ashok is no longer there. The warmth is no longer there.

8. The seven islands of Bombay in Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet.

9. Lauren (Mehdi Nebbou) and Shashi (Sridevi) in Gauri Shinde's English Vinglish. 

10. Two Ashutosh Gowariker films have memorable sexual tension scenes—the dhoti scene in Swades and the sword fighting scene in Jodhaa Akbar.

11. Sahib Jaan (Meena Kumari) in a leaning pose in Kamal Amrohi's Pakeezah.

12. Nandini (Aishwarya Rai) cuts her hands twice in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

13. A fan hangs using the wire of a fan in Maneesh Sharma's FAN.

14. Reflections in Sharan Sharma's Gunjan Saxena : The Kargil Girl.

15. Window scenes in Imtiaz Ali films.

17. In Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance, Nikki Walia (Isha Sharvani)— the insider—and Sona Mishra (Konkona Sensharma)—the outsider—are the two shiny parrots facing each other on the table. But only the insider gets to wear the shiny dress in real life. There is Vikram Jaisingh (Farhan Akhtar), another bird trying to find a place in the industry. When he finds success, the birds on his shirt fly away. The film is full of many such gems. More details here. 

18. Ram Gopal Varma's Rangeela completed twenty-five years recently. Putting some of my favorite shots from it. 

18. Farhan Akhtar's Dil Chahta Hai also completed nineteen years. Every year, I try to write something about the film. But this time, I did not. I just wrote some tweets. I hope I have the courage and the honesty to write someday why this film will always be very special for me.
