I did not understand why this did not work at the box office. Such a simple story with so much love put into it. Gulrez and her father's relation bring tears to my eyes. Almost all my school life my father was the one who made tea for me and wake me up cause my Mum is not a morning person. I loved Gullu and Amjad's little moments too. I loved how the film talked about topic of dowry harassment and fale dowry cases at the same time without being preachy at any point. And Tariq, who will not fall for that guy? He cooks and brings kebab and briyani with him. I would just arrange a fake rishta session with such guy just to eat that food :p He is 12th fail total desi, like 'bally' not 'hally' and still has a better thought process than most of so called smart heroes. Is ok with his wife not changing her surname, respects her and cares. But for me and my whole family Dawat e Ishq is about food. We enjoy that film so much. And it may look absurd to some but trust me I am the kind of girl who can be convinced over a box of seekh kebab. First thought during that scene 'where do I find that box of seekh kabab'. I love how all major scenes are focused on food, the one with amjad where they get to know each other she gorges on a burger and then talk about their food habits, how she focuses on the samosa instead of that Rejected rishta, the way to her father's heart is his faborite biryani, tariq wins them both with food, she cons him with kheer, amazing. It was not as good as do dooni char but a lot better than many other films made recently. Very under rated.TheM_A_Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16492467314288298749noreply@blogger.com
